Ali regularly visits schools and colleges to provide bespoke Psychology revision sessions for students and tailored training for staff. These typically focus on exam technique for both AQA and Edexcel exam boards, and are designed to accommodate your school / colleges timings and make it either a half or whole day’s revision. These sessions are run face to face or online via Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Skype.
A typical day at A level involves getting both Y12 and Y13 to attend in the morning for paper 1 and general revision / exam technique, and then just have the Y13 present in the afternoon for paper 2 and paper 3 revision. At GCSE the focus would be on Paper 1 (am) and paper 2 (pm) or whatever suits you and your students best. Sessions are fully interactive and focus on exam technique rather than content, resources will be provided.
Other colleges also get the students to contribute to the cost. Bookings for dates over Easter and February / May half term are popular as demand is high and it also prevents students being pulled out of other lessons which some staff prefer. Twilight sessions are also available.
Outcomes of the day: Increased understanding of assessment demands for each exam paper Understood current and common issues from a senior examiner’s perspective Received key feedback from recent A level and GCSE examinations Taken part in a range of interactive activities to fully understand content Understood examiner insight and teaching ideas to raise student attainment Will leave the day fully motivated to revise and properly prepared for the exam
This is an excellent opportunity for your students to absorb the necessary examination skills from someone who has supervised the marking of thousands of candidates’ exams over the last 13 years.
